Reworking a Rental

This rental property needed some updating to get it ready to lease for a premium price in one of Sydney’s most desirable suburbs. A new bathroom retained the existing layout and updated it with modern fixtures, while the kitchen was brought to life with a fresh new look. The team also worked on the backyard, which had previously been untidy and inviting.

The result was a property that presented well and rented easily.

Federation Delights

Divided by a common wall, these two attached 1905 semis were completely gutted, with new slabs placed to lower floors and the upper levels extended with an additional storey.

Working with the client’s Interior Designer, the result was a beautiful mix of Federation and contemporary styling. To achieve this 5to50 was required to maintain strict adherence to all BCA fire and multi-living requirements.

This stunning pair of homes retained their century-old charm and combined that with all the convenience and luxury of modern living.

Renovate to Sell

Preparing a home for sale can be a difficult process – after all, you want to present your most valuable asset in the best light possible. This home in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs needed a bit of love to get it market ready.

The 5to50 team replaced the flooring in the sunroom and widened the door between the kitchen and sunroom to create an open concept feel. The driveway was re-turfed and the backyard tidied with turf and mulch. The kerb appeal of the home was improved by replacing rusted drainpipes, replacing termite-damaged timbers and boxing in an unsightly meter box.

New Doors, a Deck and Landscaping

Sitting high on a hill overlooking Sydney’s Curl Curl beach on the Northern Beaches, this substantial family home had plenty of living space but was completely cut off from the large backyard. In fact the only access was a single door and a steep set of cracked, concrete stairs.

5to50 installed a six-metre bank of bi-fold doors and built a large deck that completely transformed the way this family used their home. Not only did the new doors flood the casual living area with light, they also created an all-in-one entertaining area that blended the indoors with the outdoors.

An Outdoor Kitchen

This semi in Sydney’s Inner West had a great outlook but the difficult-to-access backyard lawn was hard to maintain and the house was lacking a connection between the living areas and the yard below.

5to50 designed and created an entertainer’s dream in the backyard with a deck that was large enough for a dining area as well as a lounge area that overlooked a firepit. In addition, a gourmet barbecue was installed in a generous bench that also included a fridge and sink. To create a connection and access from the upstairs living areas, the old balcony was replaced with a glass balustrade to increase light and views and a spiral staircase was installed.

Complete Transformation

It’s hard to believe this is the same house – a large semi in Manly was transformed into a beautiful family home with an open plan kitchen, dining and living room that merges seamlessly with a private courtyard.

The rear of the house was gutted and an architecturally designed extension brought light and space into the home, which is enjoyed by a family with three teenage children. A family bathroom and laundry were also created for this lovely home on Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
